Here in Arlington, Virginia, the Arts are Part of Who We Are...and becoming an ever-bigger part all the time. Arlington is home to over 500 individual artists and more than 50 arts organizations including theatre companies, artist studios, dance companies, and musical groups from balalaika to a opera. Arlington is also home to whimsical murals... towering sculptures and other works of public art, plus galleries, theatres and other facilities of all shapes and sizes. And when it comes to advocacy, the Arlington Commission for the Arts is a strong voice of the arts community to the Arlington County Board. If you know the arts, you know that one learns how to create magic with limited resources, and all visual and performing arts groups rely on dedicated volunteers.
