I paint landscapes and still lifes.  I believe that painting is creating a spell—a mood—not recreating a scene or object.  A finished painting is meant to be evocative, not necessarily narrative, of something I am seeing, and/or have seen or experienced.  Having traveled widely for most of my life, I filter scenes or compositions through my experiences and emotions.  The play of light, value, contrast, and perspective are critical, but remain mine to manipulate and capture within my own vision.  My objective is to make every work a piece of myself.  I am regularly selected to participate in juried shows with the Arts Club of Washington, Art League of Alexandria, and Arlington Artists Alliance.  My paintings can be found in collections in Virginia, the District of Colombia, Maryland, Connecticut, California, Florida, Colorado, Texas, and Thailand.
