WalkArlington

The Arlington Cultural Affairs Division has just created the first of a series of WALKArlington Map and Guide brochures for Rosslyn. It is a conveniently-sized booklet that includes memorials, public art, architecture, history, parks and plazas, things to do, transportation and links to useful information for citizen and visitor alike. You can download the brochure as a pdf file,  call 703-228-1850 or email us to have one sent to you. A similar guide for Ballston/Virginia Square will be available soon, and it is hoped that similar guides will be available for other Arlington neighborhoods in the future.

WALKArlington is a county-wide initiative to create a safe, inviting and enjoyable pedestrian environment throughout Arlington. Its goal is to create exciting and interesting places where walking is the preferred way to travel, and is an effort to encourage people to walk more often. Why? Because walking is good exercise, it’s convenient, it’s good for the environment and business, and it makes for a good community. But most importantly, it is simply the most enjoyable way of getting around. The WALKArlington website www.walkarlington.com  includes a great deal of information on walking groups, trails, guided walks and maps.
